SC&I Majors and Minors:

We hope you are staying healthy and safe. As we prepare for the Spring 2021 pre-registration period, please note the changes to our student services processes as we provide academic advising and registration assistance remotely. We thank you in advance for your continued patience and support.

As a reminder, Spring 2021 pre-registration begins Monday, November 30, 2020, at 9:00 AM and continues through Thursday, December 10, 2020.  Refer to the Spring 2021 Pre-registration Schedule to determine which specific date and time you will be eligible to register. During the pre-registration period, SC&I academic advising will be available on a virtual walk-in basis. Academic advising appointments will resume Monday, December 14, 2020.

Procedures for SC&I Undergraduate Advising during Pre-registration

o    Once in the LiveChat session, you can submit general questions, which will be answered by Student Services advising staff. If you have specific questions or need an individual session, the Student Services staff will take your name, RUID, and your preferred phone number. You will be advised of your place in the advising queue and informed of your approximate wait time. An SC&I academic advisor will then contact you via phone to begin your advising session. The call will be from a Rutgers extension so be sure to accept the call.

  • The LiveChat waiting room will be available during the following hours for SC&I academic advising:
      • Monday, 9:00A – 11:30A & 1:30P – 4:30P
      • Tuesday, 9:00A – 11:30A & 1:30P – 4:30P
      • Wednesday, 9:00A – 11:30A & 1:30P – 4:30P
      • Thursday, 9:00A – 11:30A & 1:30P – 4:30P
      • Friday, 9:00A – 11:30A & 1:30P – 4:00P
  • Students can also submit general questions via email or phone.
    • Emails will be monitored by the Student Services staff. Given the volume, please allow up to 24 hours for a response. If immediate assistance is needed, please visit the LiveChat. If you send an email message or request, you must include your full name, your 9-digit RUID, a phone number where you can be reached, your Rutgers email address, and a brief description of the problem or questionOne of our staff will respond to your message.
  • Via phone – (848) 932-7550
    • Calls to the Student Services main phone line will be monitored by the Student Services staff. Given the volume, please allow up to 24 hours for a response. If immediate assistance is needed, please visit the LiveChat. If you leave a voicemail message, please speak clearly and you must include your full name, your 9-digit RUID, a phone number where you can be reached, your Rutgers email address, and a brief description of the problem or question. One of our staff will respond to your message.

Remember that special permission numbers will not be assigned during the pre-registration period for closed courses, major-restricted courses, or registration holds that you may have.
