The RPSO, based at SC&I, is a fun, collegial club of Rutgers students who are working to improve their communicating, interviewing, and presenting skills. Participating in public speaking competitions is not required.

The Rutgers University RPSO, based at SC&I, is a fun, collegial group of Rutgers students who are working to improve their communicating, public speaking, interviewing, and presenting skills. All students, regardless of their initial level of interest and commitment, are welcome to join, and club members are not required to participate in public speaking competitions.

As a rising senior majoring in Information Technology and Informatics, Ampadu-Nyarkoh said, “Learning how humans interact with technology has resonated with me more than just sitting at a screen and coding, because being in ITI has enabled me to focus on very interesting projects that relate to human beings.”

As a rising senior majoring in Information Technology and Informatics, Ampadu-Nyarkoh said, “Learning how humans interact with technology has resonated with me more than just sitting at a screen and coding, because being in ITI has enabled me to focus on very interesting projects that relate to human beings.”

Zhang had once considered majoring in Computer Science, but she chose Information Technology and Informatics because she “really wanted to work with people rather than doing development work.”

Yu, who served as the SC&I Student Representative at SC&I’s graduation ceremony this year, tells SC&I why she chose to major in ITI, and said, “one of the best parts of the ITI program is how applicable it is.”

Yu, an Information Technology and Informatics major who was nominated by a faculty member to serve as the SC&I Student Representative at SC&I’s graduation ceremony this year, tells SC&I why she chose to major in ITI, how it helped her land the job she hoped for, and her advice for those considering the major.

This year, 1,161 students earned degrees from SC&I, and nearly half attended the ceremony at Jersey Mike’s Arena with their families and friends.
