Countering Gender-based Discrimination in Mental Health Prediction Algorithms

A new study by Ph.D. alumna Jinkyung Katie Park and Associate Professor Vivek K. Singh examining bias in mobile phone-based mental health assessment algorithms has found their performance can vary significantly depending on gender.

Doerfel’s team found that the role of process experts is most important after the initial crisis, when organizations enter recovery phases.

New Study Aims to Help Organizations Through Environmental Disasters

One of the study’s most important findings is that disaster recovery is not simply based on phases, but that time itself is an organizing mechanism of resilience processes. Staff members’ sense of urgency induced them to work even as they left their homes or worried about flooding.

Cassidy Duhigg MCM’22, COM’21 transferred to Rutgers her sophomore year, excited because, as she said, “from the 120+ undergrad majors to the dozens of engaging student clubs, Rutgers truly had everything I wanted.” What she wasn’t sure of, however, was her major.

Zhang had once considered majoring in Computer Science, but she chose Information Technology and Informatics because she “really wanted to work with people rather than doing development work.”

A new study reveals neither host country fully utilized virtual reality to promote the games and promote national branding and adds to the theoretical discussions on the role VR plays in sports journalism and sports public relations and provides practical recommendations on the use of virtual reality during the COVID-19 pandemic.
