Juan Gonzalez, a professor at SC&I, takes his students far beyond the boundaries of Rutgers University, and what it means to be an investigative reporter. Just last spring, a group of his students managed to expose poor working conditions at Amazon’s warehouses in New Jersey.
“These findings suggest that an increasing number of individuals in the state are educated about the risks and causes of opioid addiction,” said Itzhak Yanovitzky, associate professor at Rutgers University’s School of Communication and Information and the co-lead of the study.

Burger was formerly the Executive Director of the Princeton Public Library, heading the effort to transform it into the busiest library in New Jersey.
Rutgers School of Communication and Information (SC&I) Master of Communication and Media student Shravan Regret Iyer was awarded a scholarship by the Smithsonian Institute to attend their conference, the "Earth Optimism Summit," in Washington, D.C. held from April 21-23, 2017. Iyers presented “Citizen Journalism and Environment Conservation.”

The Rutgers University School of Communication & Information Alumni Association Annual Distinguished Alumni Award Dinner was held on Wednesday, April 19. This year’s recipient was #JMS alumni Mike Emanuel, '90. Evangelia Papamarkou, President SC&I Alumni Association, gave the welcome of the evening and presented the award along with Associate Dean of Research Mark Aakhus.
