The Rutgers School of Graduate Studies is awarding the Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring Award to Rutgers School of Communication and Information (SC&I) Professor of Communication Jennifer Theiss. Theiss studies interpersonal communication in romantic relationships, marriages, and families, and has been at SC&I since 2006.

The new faculty will bring to SC&I expertise in digital and social media environments; media literacy; and media production.

Nearly 3,000 Rutgers University students, alumni, faculty, and staff gathered at The Yard on College Avenue on April 9 for the third annual

Associate Professor Kristina Scharp will receive Top Paper and Top Panel Awards.

SC&I Communication faculty and doctoral students will participate in the 18th biennial Kentucky Conference on Health Communication hosted by the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information’s Department of Communication, April 4 – 6, in Lexington, Kentucky. The conference theme is “innovations in health communication.”

When he graduates with a Master of Communication and Media, Wasilewski will have earned his third Rutgers degree. He said the MCM courses he has enjoyed the most are PR History with Assistant Professor Mark Beal, Digital Media Research with Associate Professor Caitlin Petre, Media Law with Associate Dean for Programs and Professor Susan Keith, and Digital Media Production with Assistant Professor of Professional Practice Neal Bennett.

SC&I Professor of Communication Jennifer A. Theiss has been awarded the 2023  Bernard J. Brommel Award for Outstanding Scholarship or Distinguished Service in Family Communication from the National Communication Association (NCA).

For the third time in the conference’s long-standing history, the Rutgers School of Communication and Information will host the Organizational Communication Mini-Conference. It will be held from Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8, 2023 on the College Avenue campus in New Brunswick. 

Alyssa Pernice MCM’23 is an account supervisor at BCW, a multinational public relations and communications firm headquartered in New York City. She recently fulfilled her long-time goal of obtaining a master’s degree by completing the Master of Communication and Media (MCM) program at Rutgers School of Communication and Information.
