Instrumentalists at ITI Showcase 2017

Scholarships and Awards

The School of Communication and Information (SC&I) is proud to be able to recognize high achieving undergraduate and graduate students each year by awarding scholarships and awards.  Each undergraduate and graduate program at SC&I offers its own scholarships and awards.
Information about the department scholarships and scholarship eligibility criteria are listed below.  All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid by completing a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).  Additional information about the FAFSA application and other financial aid information is available on the Rutgers University Financial Aid webpage at Rutgers University Financial Aid webpage.

  1. All applicants must set up an account in the scholarship application portal in order to access the application. Register here for a new WordPress account. If you have already established a WordPress account or if you are returning to finish an incomplete application, log-in with your original credentials. Once logged in, the link for the Scholarship page will appear.
  2. Undergraduate Communication majors, Undergraduate Journalism and Media Studies majors, and Master of Information students should complete the scholarship application associated with that award. COM, JMS, or MI students may apply for more than one award within their COM, JMS, or MI program. If you are an ITI or MCM student, you do not need to select multiple scholarship applications. The faculty scholarship committee will review your application and consider you for the most suitable award offered by that department.
  3. The scholarship application requires the following supporting documents to be uploaded with each individual application that you are applying to:
  •  An unofficial copy of your Rutgers University transcript (incoming graduate students should upload most recent copy of undergraduate or graduate transcripts)

  • A personal statement expressing why you are deserving of the scholarship and/or how you have a demonstrated financial need (you may re-use the same personal statement, unless the scholarship description states a specific topic for the personal statement)

  • Current resume or CV.

If you have any questions, you may contact the SC&I scholarship administrator at
