SC&I Department of Communication offers awards and scholarships for undergraduate students. To be considered for these scholarships and awards, complete the application association with that award. You may apply for more than one.

Steven and Cynthia Magidson Scholarship
For full-time Communication majors who are rising seniors and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement

Todd Hunt Public Service Endowed Prize
For full-time Communication majors who are rising seniors, have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and exemplary involvement and service to more than one group or society

Hugh Taliaferro Memorial Scholarship
For full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors and who demonstrate unusual aptitude in Communication or render exceptional service to the department or University community

Julian Breen Memorial Endowed Scholarship
For full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors, have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and significant service to the department, the University, and/or the community

SC&I Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
For full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement

SC&I Scholarship
For full-time Communication majors who are rising juniors or seniors and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and financial need

Departmental Honors
To graduate with the distinction of departmental honors, you must have an overall GPA of 3.25 and a GPA in the major of 3.65.

Communication Honors Program
The Communication Honors program is for seniors who have completed a two-semester thesis project. If you are interested, download, complete and return this application with a copy of your transcript to Student Services, Room 214 of the SC&I building, before the end of the add/drop period.

Scholastic Honors in SC&I
To receive the Scholastic Honors designation for graduation, you must achieve both:

• 3.65 GPA or above in the major, and
• 3.25 GPA overall in undergraduate studies

These honors are not dependent upon participation in any official Honors program.
